YOU Rally
April 19-21 38 people gathered from 7 ministries to explore the theme, "The Light of YOU." We discussed how to release our past so we can set a new intention for our future, how we can shine out light for ourselves and others, and how we can be more accepting of unexpected changes in our lives. During this event we also elected our 2024 Regional Officers: Aurora Jarvi (Portland) and Kendall Stratton (Lynnwood)!

|
Do you ever wonder about the impact you make with your donations to our youth? Here is just one testimonial from a high school senior who was applying to her local community for a scholarship to attend the April YOU Rally.

CEU Opportunities
Did you know? In addition to earning your continuing education units (CEUs) at Convention, webinars are offered year-round to enhance our skills in ministry. Unity ministers are required to obtain seven (7) hours of continuing education each year, and five (5) hours for LUTs. At least one hour must be in the area of inclusivity/diversity, and at least one hour must be in the area of ethics/boundaries for ministers and LUTs. Learn more about CEU requirements and check our trainings page for information about upcoming opportunities.

In other news…
The region recently received two generous financial gifts from Unity of Kent, who is no longer meeting in their 1920s historical building in Kent, WA. Unity of Kent has been meeting at that location since 1981. We bless the Unity of Kent community and Rev Patty Becker. Rev. Patty continues to teach classes, conduct ceremonies, and sending out weekly messages.
…………
At the 2023 Unity Worldwide Convention, one of the awardees for a LEAP innovation grant was Unity of Tustin with a WeSpace embodied mystical program designed to take the practice of prayer to second tier expression. As their program progresses, the two people who have graduated to the level of being able to guide others are both from our Northwest Region. William Gregory, from Unity Spiritual Community of Central Oregon, is enrolled at UWSI starting this June. Rev. James Tierney, from Unity of Seattle, is an ordained Unity minister now leading a CSL congregation in the Seattle area. Congratulations to William and Rev. James for representing our pioneering northwest spirit. We look forward to your sharing this cutting edge mysticism with the rest of us.
…………
And finally, some exciting news in the larger Unity movement is that Rev. Kevin Kitrell Ross (Rev. Kev) of Sacramento Unity is leading the launch of an alternative ministry to bring Unity campus ministries to colleges and universities. The pilot program is happening at Harvard Divinity School.

Announcement
Calling ministers who have been ordained for at least three years, that have the time and vision to support, engage and encourage future ministers to join our mentorship program within UUMS.
As ministers we know it is important to cultivate relationships to gain connection and support. The UUMS student body is seeking mentors who are available once a month to invest in our Unity Movement by guiding, directing, and challenging one to three students during the duration of their journey to become ordained. If you are willing to serve in this capacity, please contact Mary Patton at pattonm57@gmail.com
