From the Board
We are working on the Ministers' Retreat for September and hope to have registration and all the details put together by next month. For now, here's a teaser. Rev. Susan Gumm, who is chairing the retreat planning, has secured a block of tickets for us to enjoy a boat ride on Lake Coeur d’Alene as part of our retreat. We are planning another gathering similar to what we enjoyed last fall, incorporating relaxation, play, connection, ritual, and collaboration. Please be sure to mark your calendars for September 16-18 in Coeur d’Alene.
We welcomed Dennis Ashley, LUT, to the Regional Board. Dennis is the spiritual leader of Unity Center of Spiritual Growth in North Idaho.
Our tithe for this month goes to Audrey Pitchford, LUT. She is no longer serving as our LUT rep, but while she was she went above and beyond the normal role, connecting the LUTs of our region with those from other regions, and designing and leading ethics classes that we all benefited from.
You will most likely have learned of the passing of Rev. Steve Colladay who had been serving Unity Center of Divine Love and Light in Spokane up until last month when he returned home to Kansas City for health concerns. All who had the honor of knowing him attest to a peaceful, gentle, loving soul. We were blessed to have him in our movement and in our region, even if only for a short time. Our prayers are with his family and with Unity Center of Divine Love and Light as they open to the next right step in their growth and leadership.
This may be an unusual request to put in our newsletter, but Mike Muir, board vice-chair and spiritual leader of Unity of Salt Lake, brought our attention to the plight of one of Rev. Phillip Zemke's community members whose child is facing a dire situation in Salt Lake right now. Since both Phillip's and Mike's ministries are smaller, perhaps we can widen the net of help for this family by sharing their story here. https://gofund.me/5a3e3e0b.
