I first became aware of the Unity movement in the late 1970's, when a friend invited me to attend Unity of Missoula. I had begun to realize that there must be a God, but that that power was not what I found in traditional religious services. I was exploring the work of Edgar Cayce at that time in my life, and my friend explained to me that many people who were interested in Edgar Cayce had found a spiritual home in Unity. One Sunday at a time, over the course of a few years, I became convinced that Unity was my path. I first joined the board, was elected board president, and helped shepherd Missoula Unity through several years of different ministers and lay leadership. I kept thinking that finding a spiritual leader from within our organization would work best for our community, but no one stepped forward. Finally I realized that Spirit was speaking to me! I enrolled in SEE classes at Unity Village, and pursued a path to become a Licensed Unity Teacher. Along the way I discovered the Prayer Chaplain program, and introduced it to Unity of Missoula. My classes and experiences in the wider world of Unity has enriched our church community in countless ways. I am GRATEFUL for the opportunity to serve and the blessing of meeting so many awesome people along the way.
